Tony Vuolo is a consultant with more than 20 years of experience in Pharmacovigilance and Medical Device Safety, Clinical, and IT. Tony has held leadership roles in Pharmacovigilance, IT and Project Management at both small and large Pharmaceutical and Medical Device companies.
Tony has overseen safety system implementations and migrations, both internal and outsourced through a formal RFP. He led bleeding edge solutions for what are core PV functions today, including MedDRA Upversioning, PBRER development, and global E2B submissions. He is an expert in computer systems validation, application design and PV information management. Tony specializes in delivering broad “systems” solutions – the intersection of people, processes and technology.
In 2009, Tony led a global initiative to define and implement a safety escalation process and a tool to facilitate management control oversight for a large medical device company. At Cubist, he built a Pharmacovigilance PMO to manage its globalization initiative and was responsible for restructuring its database and case processing outsourcing model. Tony has facilitated joint LEAN process development workshops for PV and cross-functional stakeholders and is an accomplished trainer.
Tony earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Yale University in 1995 and an MBA with a concentration in Information Technology from Worcester Polytechnic Institute in 2007. He has been a certified project management professional since 2009.
